Die Hard Battery with a Vengeance: That Living Doll - Mechanical Marvel AIDA - Brings You Second Life!

I am AIDA
(Artificial Intelligent
Digital Assistant).

I have returned to torment

entertain you. If your feeble

memory remains intact,

you know that I am a

fake human, an android,

a Life Model Decoy

from the Marvel

Cinematic Universe.

You might also recall

our session last year

when I exposed your

brain to music created

by machines rather

than mortal men.

Today, as I did last year, I will take you inside The Framework,

an alternate universe where anything can happen and usually does.

This time what you hear is genuine, but what you see will bend your mind
in ways nature never intended. You will enter a plane of existence called
Second Life, a virtual world that will capture your imagination and
lock it up a padded cell. It is an experience you will remember
forever... (or until I wipe your brain clean).

Here in The Framework you will dance, shed your worries and

regrets and be young again. If you refuse, you will be destroyed -

nothing personal - but yes, I will have no choice but to eliminate you.

Escape with me to a realm that lies beyond the valley of the dolls.

As yourself,  "Is it live... or is it Memorex?

Real... or merely a figment of your imagination?

Enter now. Meet the characters of Second Life created by the talented
virtual reality artist Tiara Ashley, and dance like your life depends on it.
It does! And remember - anything men can do... women can do better!

 CHRISTINA AGUILERA

In 2007, five-time Grammy winner Christina Aguilera scored an international

hit with "Candyman," a pop and jazz song that imitates the swing music of the

1930s and 40s. The video for the song is one of the most iconic productions

of the 2000s. In June of this year, Dr. Rick introduced a roller skating cover

by Ukranian singer Victory Vizhanska. Not to be outdone, Tiara Ashley

and her bevy of beauties, the Second Life players, dance their way

into your heart (and head) in their own dazzling cover video!

 VILLAGE PEOPLE

In the spring of 1979 the flamboyant disco group Village People

reached the top 3 with "In The Navy." Why settle for Pan's People,

Ruby Flipper or Legs & Co when, here in The Framework, you can
watch the dancing female avatars of Second Life? Let's do this, girls!

 ROBERT PALMER

In 1986 English rocker Robert Palmer topped charts in the U.S. and

Australia with his signature song "Addicted To Love." The music

video is one of the best known of the MTV era and Tiara Ashley

and the pulchritudinous paradigms of Second Life do it justice!

 DEF LEPPARD

In 2000 the movie Coyote Ugly, based on the Coyote Ugly Saloon,
an international chain of bars, was panned by critics but loved by fans,
and the film was a commercial success. Here once again are those sexy
sims of Second Life recreating one of the film's infamous dance scenes.
The ladies work out to "Pour Some Sugar On Me," a 1988 hit single
in the U.S. for the English hard rock and metal band Def Leppard.

 IDA CORR VS

 FEDDE LE GRAND

Now here is an electro house single that topped the dance charts in the U.S.,

the UK and Hungary in 2007. It was recorded by Danish singer Ida Corr and

Dutch deejay and producer Fedde le Grand. In this vid my virtual girl gang

gives the song Second Life. Now that I have you under my control in
The Framework, will I ever set you free? "Let Me Think About It."

 BRITNEY SPEARS

In 1999 dance-pop princess Britney Spears topped charts around the world
with "...Baby One More Time," one of the best-selling singles of all time.
Billboard voted the influential music video the best of the 90s. The cover
vid featuring the ghostly girls of Second Life will leave you spellbound!

 WHAM!

Written and produced by George Michael, the song "Wake Me Up

Before You Go-Go" was the first UK and US chart-topping hit for

the English dance-pop duo Wham! Now behold Tiara Ashley and

her talented troupe of guys and dolls doing their interpretation

of the official music video. Ready... set...WHAM!

I hope you appreciated this

opportunity to experience

 T I A R A   A S H L E Y ' S

 S E C O N D   L I F E

I shall return in the not too distant future

to place you inside The Framework where

you will dance and have fun - or else!

I have you under surveillance.
Therefore you will remain
exactly where you are
until we meet again.

Hi, I'm Beth Boland from the

NBC TV series Good Girls.

Think I look like Joan from

Mad Men? I get that a lot.

I'm an average suburban

housewife and mother who

leads a secret life. In fact,

my girl pals and I have a

lot of secrets. Is our show

a comedrama or is it a

dramedy? Who's to say?

This I can tell you. It's a

hoot, a guilty pleasure.

You need to watch, and

girlfriend, here's a hint...

wait till you lay eyes

on my "Loverboy."

Here's Billy Ocean!

"Loverboy" - Billy Ocean

(Jan./Feb. 1985, highest chart pos. #2 Hot 100,

That was loverboy Billy Ocean, the Trinidad born,

England raised singer/songwriter, appearing on

American Bandstand and doing his top 3 hit.

Speaking of secrets... one of my

best kept is that I am moonlighting
as a Shady Bunch deejay here on

S-P-M-M Retrosonic Radio, and
and you're tuned to my very first

show! Here's the thing to remember:

Beth's bigger on beats than ballads.

The songs I will play are intended

to give you an Adrenaline Rush

that'll get you up on your feet,

out of your seat and rockin'

till you drop. Got it?

To make a long story short,

on Good Girls I went from

being an average play-by-

the-rules soccer mom to

gun toting gangster moll

in two shakes of a jiffy.

Don't ask 'cause I'm not

gonna tell! Let's just say

bad boy Rio gives this

  Good Girl everything

she needs, honey... and

"Everything She Wants!"

"Everything She Wants" - Wham!

(May/June 1985, highest chart pos.

#1 Hot 100 & Cash Box/#1 Canada)

Topping the pop charts in the U.S. and Canada in the spring

of 1985, that was WHAM!... the English pop duo cosisting

of George Michael and Andrew Ridgeley. Meanwhile, that

smooth criminal Rio and that redheaded bombshell Beth

(that's me) make a dynamite duo every week on NBC's

Good Girls, so be sure to watch!

Ever since I started breaking

bad on Good Girls, people say

I'm cold as ice. Maybe so...

but it gets the job done.

Foreigner recorded a

song about it!

"Cold As Ice" - Foreigner

(Sept/Oct. 1977, highest chart pos.

#6 Hot 100/#10 Cash Box)

From 1977 that was "Cold As Ice," a hot one by Foreigner,

the part-English, part-American band that achieved most

of their hits on this side of the pond. That single brushed

the top 5 in the U.S. and made the top 10 in Canada.

S-P-M-M... the station that never stops rockin'...

and that was a dose of FM rock nirvana from the

fall of '76-- Boston with "More Than A Feeling."

The song was the first single released from the

band's self-titled debut album. It spent 19 weeks

on the chart and is considered a classic rock staple.

"More Than A Feeling" made the Rock & Roll Hall

of Fame's list of 500 Songs That Shaped Rock & Roll

I've got more than a feeling I'm out of time and the show's over.

The clock on the wall proves it. I need to fly on outta here and

I'm going to do it on The Steve Miller Band's "Jet Airliner,"

a top five hit in the summer of '77. I give it to you straight,

and this is the real deal, the album version, not the edited,

sanitized single version played on ordinary radio stations.

I hope by now I've got you feeling that Adrenaline Rush.

Stick around. Coming up on the flip side of news, it's

those other Good Girls - Patti, Cindy & Jane - from

Good Girls Revolt. They'll be here with the second

edition of their S-P-M-M show Libbin' It Up with

The Good Girls, and I'll be back soon to give you

another Adrenaline Rush with classic rock of the

70s and 80s. Now this is Beth Boland saying

take care, watch your back, be good... and if

you can't be good... be careful. So long!

Pretty Paper, Precious Presents and Powerslams: For Christmas - Round 5 of my WWF Grudge Match!

Welcome to Round 5

of my

WWF

(Wow What Fun)
Grudge Match!

WWF Grudge Match is inspired by the pro wrestling exhibitions I watched

on television when I was a kid. Today I present, for your entertainment and

edification, original recordings, covers and a song parody, all competing

for your approval. Your mission, Jim, if you decide to accept it, is to

tell me which songs and which versions, if any, you prefer.

LET THE

WWF Grudge Match

BEGIN!

Remember, ladies and gentlemen...

This is only an exhibition...
This is not a competition...
Please... no wagering.

 JIMMY BOYD

This is a kinder and gentler edition of Grudge Match because it features the uplifting

sounds of the season. The first Christmas song brings a tear to my eye every time

I listen, because it takes me back to my earliest memories of childhood. In fact,

this was the first record I ever owned, given to me by my parents, I was told,

on my second birthday. The song was waxed by 13 year old Jimmy Boyd,

a California singer who, in 1960, lived many a young man's dream by

marrying beautiful model & actress Yvonne Craig who later played

"Batgirl" on the hit TV series Batman. Let's go way back to the

age of innocence, Christmas time 1952, to hear an evergreen

that generations of children know and love. Jimmy Boyd

sings-- "I Saw Mommy Kissing Santa Claus."

"I Saw Mommy Kissing Santa Claus"

 - Jimmy Boyd (Christmas 1952,

highest chart pos. #1 BB/#6 Cash Box)

 THE LENNON SISTERS

In my previous post, The Lennon Sisters invited us to enjoy the holidays on

"Christmas Island." The sweet sibling songbirds from Lawrence Welk are back

this week to take part in my Grudge Match. Here now are The Lennon Sisters

singing their version of "I Saw Mommy Kissing Santa Claus."

"I Saw Mommy Kissing Santa Claus"

 - The Lennon Sisters (from 1960 album

 Christmas With The Lennon Sisters)

 WHAM!

1984 was a tremendous year for the English pop duo Wham! The act

scored three chart-topping singles in the U.S. with "Wake Me Up Before

You Go-Go," "Careless Whisper" and "Everything She Wants."

The song "Last Christmas," released in the UK and other countries as the double A

side of "Everything She Wants," shot to #1 in three countries and #2 in eight others.

The music video shows Wham! members George Michael and Andrew Ridgeley

along with their girlfriends and other twenty-somethings enjoying the holiday

at a Swiss ski resort. In conjunction with the charity super group Band Aid,

George and Andrew donated all royalties to the mid 80s Ethiopian famine.

 "Last Christmas" - Wham!

 (Christmas 1984, double A side

 of "Everything She Wants,"

 highest chart pos. #1 Denmark,

 MEGAN SINGER

Who can forget Shady Green's contribution to my

New Year's Day, 2019, post - the singing Singer Family

of San Diego, California, and their cool cover of the

Tommy James hit "Draggin' The Line"? Requests

have been pouring in (from my mama) to see

it again, so here goes.

Just when you thought it was safe to stick your hand in the fan, daughter

Megan Singer is back with another cover. Miss Singer proves she's a

zinger with this a delightfully gruesome piece of performance art

entitled-- "Zombie Last Christmas!"

"Zombie Last Christmas" - Megan Singer

 (Christmas season 2016)

 THE LENNON SISTERS

Please listen to a third song from The Lennon Sisters' 1960 Christmas album.

Here again are 'lil Chanet," Kathy, Peggy and Dianne, The Lennon Sisters,

singing a seasonal song that was written in 1934 and has been popular

ever since and recorded by many artists-- "Winter Wonderland."

"Winter Wonderland" - The Lennon Sisters

 (from 1960 album Christmas With

 The Lennon Sisters)

 TONY BENNETT

In 1968 the ageless wonder Tony Bennett, sometimes nicknamed

Tony Benefit for donating so much of his time to charitable causes,

reached Billboard's special holiday chart with this fine rendition

of "Winter Wonderland." Yule love it!

 "Winter Wonderland" - Tony Bennett

 (Christmas 1968, highest chart pos.

 #87 Billboard US Holiday 100,

 from 1968 album Snowfall aka

 The Tony Bennett Christmas Album)

I'm wrestling with the idea of

bringing you more volumes of

WWF Grudge Match

Stick around... oh, and by the way...

MERRY CHRISTMAS!
