G.L.O.W. (Gorgeous Ladies Of WOW!)
Pt. 1 of Shady's Halloween Roctoberfest

THE IRON CROSS
NIGHTWISH

"Wish I Had An Angel"
Nightwish cover by The Iron Cross
feat. Beatrice Florea (July 2021)

Kicking off Part 1 of Shady's Halloween
Roctoberfest... one of the greatest videos
of 2021, the Nightwish song "Wish I Had
An Angel" covered by The Iron Cross, the
rock and metal band formed by Romanian
guitar virtuoso Andrei Cerbu. Fan favorite
Beatrice Florea, a regular frontwoman of
Andre's other band Shut Up & Kiss Me!,
sang lead on that performance. She was
joined by Andreea Munteanu, regular
lead singer for The Iron Cross. On
keyboards, a third beauty among
the beasts - Stefania Ana Lastun.

Hi, I'm Evie Barret. As you recall from
my teaser on Shady's 13th anniversary
back in July, I'm the new sheriff of a
tiny New Hampshire town haunted
by demons, spirits, and witches on
the comedy horror television series
Stan Against Evil. In the near future,
I'll be hosting my own radio show at
Shady's Place. I'll be playing well-
written songs with interesting lyrics
that make you think. My S-P-M-M
show is called Good Verses Evie.
(See what I did there?)

In this Halloween two-parter, you'll meet The Gorgeous Ladies of WOW! -
zesty female zingers and guitar heroines who will rock your socks off.
They will be introduced by gorgeous ladies from TV and movies who
will soon join The Shady Bunch as DJs on S-P-M-M Retrosonic Radio.

OMG! - supernatural beasties are attacking my town, so I gotta run.
Be sure to catch my new show Good Verses Evie coming soon
to Shady's Place. Now it's time to rock on and rock hard!

DARYA TYUSHEVA
MOTLEY CRUE

Hey, wassup party peeps? I'm Chloe...
the star of the TV sitcom Don't Trust
the B---- in Apartment 23. I'm a hard-
partying, irresponsible, freeloading,
sexually adventurous con artist with
the morals of a pirate. And those are
my good qualities! When it comes to
Gorgeous Ladies of WOW, it takes one
to know one, and I've got just the gal.
From Russia with 'tude, here's rock
guitarist Darya Tyusheva and her
guitar cover of Mötley Crüe's
hit single "Dr. Feelgood!"

Hi everyone! I'm June Colburn,
an innocent, wholesome, naive,
trusting out-of-towner from the
heartland who made the mistake
of moving in with Chloe, the B
in 23. I suppose you could call
us the millennial Odd Couple,
but it's all good, because Chloe
and I are excited about hosting
our very own S-P-M-M radio
show. Chloe wants to call it
BLUNT FORCE TRAUMA
but I'm leaning more toward
Whiskers on Kittens. Stay
tuned to find out what
our new show will
actually be called.

 ROCKMINA
AC/DC

Let there be Rockmina! The gorgeous lady I'd like you to meet is Romina Apostol
aka Rockmina, another exciting discovery of Romanian guitar wizard and producer
Andrei Cerbu. In this incendiary performance, Rockmina sings lead for Andrei's band
The Voodoo Child as they cover AC/DC's "Whole Lotta Rosie." Together they strike
a blow and achieve a victory in the ongoing battle to save authentic classic rock
from extinction. For those about to Rockmina... we salute you!

Hi, I'm Nurse Dolly, a nurse trainee on the psycho thriller TV
series Ratched. Here at Shady's Place, I'll be joining the
cast of The Good Doctor on their new radio show
Good Doctors - Music is Medicine

LILIAC
DIO

The Wow women I'm presenting are
the Cristea sisters, Melody & Abigail.
Together with their musical brothers,
Melody and Abby make up the LA-
based “Vamp Metal” band Liliac.
In one of the greatest performances
of this or any other year, lead singer
Melody brilliantly channels the late,
great Ronnie James Dio as Liliac
covers-- "The Last In Line!"

Hello, I'm Paige Jennings, daughter of Soviet KGB intelligence officers
posing as an American married couple in suburban D.C. on the period
spy drama TV series The Americans. I will soon be joining other
celebrity women to bring you a new S-P-M-M radio show
called All American Girls. My TV show, The Americans,
is set the 80s, the decade that yielded most of the songs
covered by the artists in this Rocktoberfest special.

SONIA ANUBIS
and JASSY J
ALICE COOPER

Now meet two more WOW women
who love to cover rock and metal of
the 80s. Sonia Anubis is a guitarist
and bassist from The Netherlands
who played with the metal bands
Burning Witches, Cobra Spell and
Crypta. Jassy J is a metal guitarist
from Germany who plays for the
rock band Oversense. Together the
gorgeous ladies are double trouble,
rock toxic, as they perform for you
a dueling guitar cover of the hit
Alice Cooper song "Poison."

natural fantasy, FX-rich,
police drama TV series
Grimm. I'll be joining 6
other female celebrities
taking part in the annual
A To Z Challenge,
an April event you won't
want to miss, and it
happens right here
at Shady's Place.

SOPHIE LLOYD
ALICE IN CHAINS

Now, our next featured G.L.O.W. girl. She's Sophie Lloyd,
rock and metal guitarist based in London. Behold
Sophie's virtuosity as she performs a shred
version of Seattle band Alice in Chains'
grunge classic "Man In The Box!"

I'm Maria from the 2018 Canadian psycho horror film Look Away.
Spelled backward in my magic mirror... my name is "Airam."
Long story short, evil Airam is trying hard to slip thru to
my side of the looking glass and take over my personality.
I guess you could say her bad behavior reflects on me.
Be here for the debut of my new S-P-M-M radio
show Thru the Spooking Glass, coming soon!

SOPHIE BURRELL
MEGADETH

Now, let me introduce the
last gorgeous lady of WOW
in part one of Shady D's
 Halloween Rocktoberfest.
She's another guitar rockin'
Sophie based in the UK,
and her name is Sophie
Burrell. Listen as Sophie
slays her way thru an
early 90s heavy metal
anthem, the Megadeth
song " Symphony of

  1. Last in Line was impressive. She even sounded like Dio. And even though she didn't sing, props to Sophie for using the talk box.

    1. Hi, Alex!

Thanks for the hustle, good buddy. You nailed down the Early Bird spot for the 14,337th week in a row!

I'm delighted you agree that the Liliac kids do an excellent cover of "The Last In Line," a video the sibling band released three months ago. Lead zinger Melody channels Dio like no other female vocalist I ever heard. It's spooky, as if she is possessed by the late metal god's spirit!

I'm also pleased that you singled out rock guitarist Sophie Lloyd's winning (and shredding) performance of "Man In The Box," one of the most popular videos on the talented Brit girl's Y/T channel.

Thanks again for coming early, good buddy Alex, and enjoy the rest of your week!

  2. I can't believe I'm #2 in posting dear Shady! I've been a bit out of the blogging sphere but I did catch your last post only I was not in a place to listen to all the music. I'm glad I'm here now and getting ready for my favorite holiday. Of course you know these aren't my fav music to listen to but you sure can't deny the talent and the guitar playing...oh, and the beauty of these rockers! I actually like the very first song the best. I haven't heard of most of the TV shows but a few I did know so I'll give myself a teensy pat on the back! I hope all's great with you and I will post something soon. Taking care of Jack these past weeks has been a focus and he's slowly getting back into routines so I hope to finally have something to blog about! Take Care now!

    1. Hi, YaYa!

I can't tell you how relieved I am to see you, dear friend. You know how it goes. When a friend like you falls silent on the blog scene for an extended period, I start to worry that more hardship has come your way. Thank you very much for showing up and taking second place in the Early Bird race!

I feel silly, because I thought the sign I placed in the front window of Shady's Place this morning read "Yes, we're open - welcome!" Instead, I accidentally grabbed the sign that says "Do not disturb!" :) Thank you for coming through the door anyway.

Yessum, this post features what I consider to be two of the greatest music video performances of the year, and they both came out of Andrei Cerbu's Garage in Romania. You mentioned one of them, the glorious rendition of the Nightwish song "Wish I Had An Angel" by The Iron Cross featuring two fan favorites - Beatrice Florea and Andreea Munteanu. The other is the AC/DC cover by another Cerbu band The Voodoo Child fronted by Romina aka Rockmina. I literally got tears in my eyes as I watched and listened to those two videos first thing this morning, They're that good.

Yessum, some of my favorite TV series and movies are represented here also. Stan Against Evil, Ratched (the prequel to One Flew Over the Cuckoo's Nest) and Don't Trust the B---- in Apt. 23 are all a hoot. The Americans and Grimm are both excellent. The movie Look Away is also scary fun, as the girl's evil reflection in the mirror jumps through the looking glass, swaps places with her and goes on a murder spree.

Thank you again for being here for Part 1 of my Halloween Rocktoberfest. Part 2 is coming next Tuesday and I hope you will return even though you don't like hard rock and metal as much as other genres. More of my favorite TV series and movies will be represented by the characters who introduce the songs.

Yessum, I hope Jack is continuing to make steady progress toward complete wellness, and I look forward to your next update from The Pines. Enjoy the rest of your week, dear friend YaYa!

  3. I believe I've heard all of the originals of these songs except for the very first one "Wish I Had an Angel". I liked it, but it's an unusual choice of subject matter for a headbanger anthem. If a heavy metal band is going to do a song about an angel, you'd think it'd be the FALLEN kind.

    1. Hi, Kirk!

Thanks for coming to the spook party, good buddy! Only one comment, Kirk? I thought you and I had worked out that "10 comment bundle" deal a while back. :)

Yes, good buddy. Some of the best known songs of hard rock and metal will be presented in this Rocktoberfest two-parter. I'm pleased to have introduced you to a song you didn't know when you arrived at Club Shady - Nightwish's "Angel" - covered so brilliantly by Andrei Cerbu and his Romanian band of beauties. Nightwish is one of the most mainstream, melodic, symphonic bands on the metal spectrum, and Andrei's band executed an extraordinary cover of their well known song, easily one of the best performances of the 2020s. The other two standouts are the covers by his other band, Voodoo Child feat. Rockmina doing "Whole Lotta Rosie," and the Cristea kids covering Dio's metal classic. All three videos literally brought tears to my eyes as I experienced them, but so do all the instrumental covers I'll be presenting in this series. Why do I get all verklempt? Look at where these young artists are located - Romania, Russia, Germany, The Netherlands, the UK - not the U.S. The exception is the LA-based Liliac, but the band's manager, their dad, along with their mom, both came directly here from Transylvania near Castle Dracula. Like I told you in our recent discussion of Swedish band Crazy Lixx, the youth of Europe are absolutely kicking our butts where music is concerned. They are primarily the ones keeping authentic rock and metal alive in the 2020s. They are preserving an art form that has been very important to me all my life. My gratitude knows no end.

Keep in mind, good buddy, that a couple dozen TV series and films are represented in this two-part series. The shows, movies and celebrity characters extracted from them to do the song intros are all fair game for discussion, every bit as much as the music. For example, the series Ratched stars Sarah Paulson, named by Time Magazine as one of the 100 Most Influential People in the World in the artist category. Sarah is one of the busiest actresses in the business today. You might remember her playing Marcia Clark in The People v. O. J. Simpson: American Crime Story. Ratched will remind you of AHS in which Sarah also stars. B in 23 is a 21st century retelling of The Odd Couple. The movie Look Away co-stars Mira Sorvino in the role of troubled teen Maria's mother.

Thanks again for checking out part 1, good buddy Kirk. Have a great weekend!

    2. Shady, I didn't leave a longer comment because those songs--even when done as instrumentals--sound so close to the originals, that I feel any praise I might give would be at the EXPENSE of the originals.

You getting all, as you call it, verklempt at the foreigners doing covers of "classic rock" songs makes me wonder about the local music scene in your part of Florida. Whenever I pick up a copy of the Cleveland Scene, a local alternative weekly, and look at what live acts are playing at watering holes in and around C-town, I see Led Zeppelin tribute bands, AC-DC tribute bands, Van Halen tribute bands, Motely Crue tribute bands, Black Sabbath tribute bands, Def Leppard tribute bands, Kiss tribute bands, Arrosmith tribute bands, and so on and so forth. I think that's evidence right there that there are Americans keeping this music alive. Yes, they're cover bands, but that would seem to be the case with the foreign acts you show here.

Also, do you consider heavy metal to be the most "authentic" form of rock? I grew up in the 1970s and spent my young adulthood in the 1980s, so I like at least the most famous examples of metal, but I've never seen it as particularly definitive. Or for that matter, particularly rebellious, even though die-hard fans of the music tend to see themselves as rebels. To me, it's a cherry-picked rebellion. Some metalheads I've known are every bit as reactionary as the stereotypical country music fan, and voted for--well, let's not get into politics.

But I might be the wrong person to be giving any kind of opinion about music. On my own blog I'm working on a post about someone who achieved fame and probably fortune a dozen years before the rock era began. I'm keeping my grandparents flame alive!

    3. Hi, Kirk!

Thanks for the bonus comment, good buddy!

YouTube stars who upload their performances of guitar covers, drum covers, etc. use the original studio recordings and simply add their instrumental playing to the mix. Covers of this kind are not intended to challenge or surpass the originals, merely to honor them. The three full covers embedded in this post are among the finest I have encountered on YouTube in the 2020s. If you thought they sounded close to the originals, then may I assume that is a good thing? You didn't say. Perhaps I misinterpreted your brief and mostly negative comment as dismissive, an indication that you didn't particularly like the performances, that you don't particularly like the originals, don't particularly like hard rock and metal and don't particularly like horror theme TV shows and movies. Gosh, even the highly acclaimed TV series The Americans is represented here, and yet I must assume that you haven't watched it and don't particularly like period spy dramas either. So please don't hold back on the praise, good buddy. If and when you find something positive and supportive to say about my content, feel free to do so. :)

It's been decades since I hung out in Central Florida clubs and I no longer follow the scene. In my reply to you, I was referring to bands with established YouTube channels and large numbers of subscribers. If a band captures the authentic sound and spirit of classic hard rock and metal, I will follow them, no matter where they are based. My point is that most of the artists of this type that I have found in my extensive research on YouTube, artists that are keeping the faith, keeping the music alive, performing authentic covers of 20th century rock and metal, are in other countries.

Yes, Kirk, I agree that there are posers and pretenders in every genre of music and in all other disciplines. A band can't simply dress the part. They need to have the music in their soul, to be possessed by the true rock spirit. Most fans know the real deal when they see and hear it, and they can also tell when tributes and covers of popular artists are more like parodies or are being done solely for commercial purposes, not out of genuine love for the original bands and their music. The political leanings of many traditional hardcore rock fans is another issue worthy of discussion and debate, perhaps at another place and time. I can only speak for myself, a fiercely loyal rock fan who also embraces, appreciates and loves many other styles, as evidenced by the mix I present year in and year out on this blog. My eclectic taste in music is an extension of my love of diversity in general. In my love of rock and metal, I have never thought of myself as a "rebel." Ever since I was a kid, people have mocked my music, dismissed rock as somehow less important than other forms. People of my parents' generation viewed rock artists and their millions of followers as society's outcasts. Their condescending attitude, their pushback against the youth movement, was rooted in fear.

George Hanson : They'll talk to ya and talk to ya and talk to ya about individual freedom. But they see a free individual, it's gonna scare 'em.

I look forward to your post on that artist of the pre-rock era. Thanks again for continuing our discussion, good buddy Kirk, and enjoy your weekend!

    4. Shady, I didn't mean to be dismissive of your tastes in music, and in fact, I wasn't. I OWN metal albums. I was just kind of dumbfounded by your response to my first comment, and that made me kind of defensive, and that defensiveness put me on the attack when it was unnecessarily to do so. For that I apologize.

You're used to me leaving lengthy comments, and was surprised that I didn't this time (of course, I'm leaving them NOW.) Fair enough. But, honestly, I just could not think of anything else to say. I thought you wanted comments on each artist's interpretation of a given song, and I was just unable to do that, unless it was simply to reply, "Gee, those sound just like the originals." I now think maybe I SHOULD have given such a reply, but that would have been an equally short comment.

When you responded to my comment about how there were tears in your eyes when you saw these videos--those were your words; I just now re-read them--I guess I just took it the wrong way. I'm thinking, "What, was I supposed to have the same emotional reaction?" I obviously didn't, and, as I said before, that put on the defensive, and now, as I re-read my second comment, on the attack.

The reason I asked about the local music scene in Florida is that the local music scene in Cleveland--which I mostly follow by looking at the club ads in an alternative weekly--is how I know hard rock is popular here in the U.S., or at least in the Ohio Valley part of the U.S. Top 40 radio is never going to be fully representative of music in the whole--ask any classical or jazz fan about that--and if hard rock has fallen out of fashion on terrestrial airways, I think it some day will come back, maybe even dominate to the point where everyone starts complaining about everything it displaced.

Afraid I'm going to have to split this up.

      Delete
    5. You right that you didn't mention either politics or rebellion in you first response to my comment, but they were on my mind anyway, and I felt I had to mention them. When you wrote "an art form very important to me" I was confused because you said it in regards to metal. I've been reading this blog long enough to know your tastes in rock go far beyond metal, and I wanted some clarification. Here's where I slipped up in my second comment. Instead of simply asking for that clarification, I brought up politics and phony rebellion because those things are what prevent me from getting too--um, I'm walking on eggshells here--reverential toward the music. I feel I can still LIKE metal--music is not an either/or preposition with me--but not have the same reaction you did, and I thought you wanted me to have that reaction.

If I can get a little personal here, my adolescence wasn't the usual parents vs. teenagers, but parents vs. teenagers vs. OTHER teenagers. In other words I felt I got hit on both sides (the teachers weren't much help either.) Yes, I rolled my eyes when adults dismissed what at the time was "todays music", but those same parents saw no difference between disco and stadium rock, whereas the kids around me did, and expected you to take sides. Really, music was the least of it, but because of this parents vs. teenagers vs other teenagers conflict, I don't feel a particular solidarity towards my own generation regarding the youth culture of that generation, beyond the all-encompassing "same frame of reference." One advantage--and it's an advantage I didn't ask for--is that it allows me to look at different eras and examine the plusses and minuses of those eras, rather than see my own era as the center of time. It's why my blog tends to jump around a bit, which the readers may find annoying, but I can't help it. I'm not saying that you don't take the same approach toward different eras, but that's where I'm coming from.

Finally, my blog. I confess THAT was on my mind, too, as my next post deals with something from before the rock era. But there's some eye candy this time--albeit black-and-white eye candy--so I hope you'll drop by.

    6. Great stuff, Kirk, and I thank you for continuing our thread. (Hey, don't look now, but this is turning into the ten comment bundle we had discussed. :)

I certainly understand that your journey differs from mine, and I respect where you are coming from. I can sense that you also respect what is important to me and the things I am passionate about, even though they might not be of great interest or value to you. I regret that you got hit from both sides in your youth. I wasn't exactly the captain of the football team who dated and married the head cheerleader, but I got by. All that matters is where you and I are now, today. I think we have much for which to be thankful including our friendship, which sometimes resembles Siskel & Ebert. :) But it's all good.

Yes indeed, I will drop by when I see your next post. I'm looking forward to it, good buddy. Thanks again for making time on your weekend. See you soon!

    7. I almost forgot, Kirk. The TV series The B---- in 23 is an Odd Couple type sitcom that co-stars Dawson's Creek vet James Van Der Beek who plays a fictionalized version of himself. It's a hoot - irreverent fluff - and a fun show to watch if you'd like to give it a try.

There... now my comment total is an even number again. Odd numbers of comments always lead me to think I forgot to reply to somebody.

      Have a good one, Kirk!

  4. Tom,

Just before I went to bed last night I noticed email notification of your post so I flagged it to remind myself to get over to check it out. This looks like another interesting post. I love your acronym G.L.O.W. for Gorgeous Ladies of WOW. Although all of these gals are wonderfully, gifted guitarists, I thought the real jewel of the group is Iron Cross. I loved their Nightwish cover and I will swing over to YT after leaving here to listen to more of their music. While I'm there I may go ahead to look up Rockmina, as well Lilac. Correct me if I'm wrong but haven't you showcased Lilac before? The frontwoman has a gnarly voice for heavy metal music. It would be interesting to hear her do something else. Thanks for sharing Part 1 of Shady's Halloween Roctoberfest. Have a funtastic Friday, my friend!

    1. Hi, Cathy!

I'm excited to see you, dear friend! Thanks for coming by to experience Pt. 1 of my H-ween Rocktoberfest featuring the best 21st century covers of rock and metal classics of the past, plus a look at the new crop of DJ personalities that will be hosting shows on SPMM Retro Radio in the near future. If you like TV series about supernatural creatures, you should watch Stan Against Evil. It's a hoot. I'm glad you appreciate my take on G.L.O.W. I watched the original Gorgeous Ladies of Wrestling. The MTV station where I worked actually aired the series in the 80s.

Yessum, you can't go wrong looking into The Iron Cross and Andrei Cerbu's ever expanding family of talented Romanian artists. I will be bringing you their best as time goes by. Yessum, I have already posted several videos by Andrei's bands and solo singers along with Liliac performances. Lead zinger Melody Cristea channels the voice and style of Ronnie James Dio, her metal idol. A couple of years ago, I devoted an entire post to Liliac, and I have another of their videos coming up in my next post, Part 2, on Tuesday. Rockmina is something special. The Smokin' Dudes channel recently posted an interview with her, and she revealed herself to be a sweet and humble young woman, yet able to access her wild and crazy side and wail like a banshee on covers of rock anthems like that one by AD/DC. I never tire of her performances and will be bringing you more of them in future posts.

Thanks again for making time for a visit and for your excellent comment, dear friend Cathy. Have a super weekend!

    2. Tom,

I will look for tomorrow's second part in this series. I'm currently listening to YouTube Iron Cross playlist. I meant to do this the other day but got side lined. That's been happening a lot lately. I thought you shared the Liliac band with me. You have a knack for finding interesting musical talent.

We do like movies and TV series based on the supernatural. I found Stan Against Evil on Hulu and just added it to our stuff to watch list. Thanks for the recommendation. I'll let you know what I think after we get a chance to view an episode. Thanks for dropping by the dance floor yesterday, my friend. Have a boogietastic week!

    3. Thanks, Cathy!

It's good to know you will check out my Part 2 tamale.

Stan Against Evil vaguely resembles Andy of Mayberry because both shows revolve around law enforcement officers and their families in a small rural town. The deputy on Stan Against Evil acts a lot like Barney Fife. Speaking of which... I am sure you saw that Barney's girlfriend on the show "Thelma Lou" has passed away at age 95. R.I.P. to actress Betty Lynn and to the great public servant Colin Powell.

      Thanks again, dear friend Cathy!

  5. The I Wish I Had An Angel cover is pretty good but I still like the original the best. I first spotted that song at the end of a movie called, Alone In The Dark. I really liked Nightwish back when Tarja Turunen was the lead singer.

Some covers are alright but most of the time they don't come close to the original, but the guitar cover for Alice Cooper's Poison was pretty good.

    Fun covers to listen to.
    Have a great week.

    1. Hi, Mary!

Thanks for popping in and checking out these covers of the classics, dear friend!

I'm happy to know you are among the millions of fans of the long-running Finnish metal band Nightwish. I collected several of their CDs a while back including material from the Tarja, Annette and Floor periods, as well as CDs by Floor's earlier bands After Forever and ReVamp.

I'm glad you enjoyed the poisonous guitar covers that went into that virtual collaboration between a young woman of rock in The Netherlands and her friend in Germany. Dutch musician Sonia will be back with a different guitar playing collab partner in Part 2 of this series next Tuesday, so stick around.

I'm glad you had fun today, Mary. As a horror lover, I urge you to check out Stan Against Evil, Ratched, Grimm and the psycho thriller Look Away. Thanks again for your visit and comment. I'll be seeing you Sunday for your report on Apartment Life!

    2. I've seen Grimm and Ratched but haven't watched Stan Against Evil yet. I hadn't heard of Look Away but if it's on Netflix I'll check it out.

    3. Hi, Mary!

Thanks for returning to the scene of the crime, dear friend!

The film Look Away co-stars Mira Sorvino, the actress who broke through and won the Academy Award and Golden Globe for Best Supporting Actress for her performance as a prostitute in Woody Allen's 1995 film Mighty Aphrodite.

I thought Grimm had one of the weakest endings of any series ever. As a book reviewer, perhaps you would agree the concluding scenario could have been written better.

I wish Ratched had lasted longer. Currently I'm watching Sarah Paulson co-starring in the latest season of American Horror Story, presented as a double feature. The second part, set in the 1950s and early 60s, stars Neal McDonough as President Ike Eisenhower and Sarah as wife/first lady Mamie. As you probably know, Neal appeared in the DC Universe as the villainous character Damien Darhk on the TV series Arrow, The Flash and Legends Of Tomorrow.

Stay tuned for another post referencing horror TV series and movies coming up two days from now in Part 2 of my Rocktoberfest.

Thanks again for coming back over to Shady's spookhouse and continuing our thread, dear friend Mary. I hope you and my good buddy Falcor are AOK today and that you enjoy a great week ahead!

  6. Hi Shady!

WOW! These young women can ROCK! Sophie Lloyd's guitar cover of "Man in the Box" reminds me of the one I did in 2009. Except she is much better than I was. I might have to get my electric guitar out again, see if the amp still plays, and rock out. Thanks for that inspiration!

I love how Sophie Lloyd had a voice box. I might have to get back into playing guitar. I wasn't the best, but it was fun.

My guy Andrei did it again! The women in his group really know how to rock it and I think they're better than the originals. "Whole Lotta Rosie" and "Wish I Had An Angel" were the best! "Wish I Had An Angel" is one of my favourite Nightwish songs and they just killed it.

Alice Cooper, Motley Crue, Dio... this was my entry today, dear friend! You had me rocking out! I know what I'm listening to again tomorrow morning, first thing! Have a great evening!

    1. Hi, Jessica Marie!

Welcome back to Shady's Place, dear friend! You told me you were coming over last Saturday for my AIDA Second Life post, but you never showed up. I started to worry that you had ghosted me. :) I'm glad you made it for Pt. 1 of my Rocktoberfest on the final night and I hope you will check out Pt. 2 which starts tomorrow.

I'm happy that you appreciate these hard rock and heavy metal tunes including instrumental covers and full covers, performed by talented young artists in several different countries. There will be more of the same in tomorrow's segment. Andrei Cerbu keeps finding exciting new talent to showcase, and he is also mixing up his band lineups, keeping fans guessing by creating inspired combinations and crossing genres.

Thanks again for reporting back in, dear friend JM. Don't be a stranger now. :) Check out Pt. 2 for more great rock covers. Have a wonderful week!

    2. Hi Shady,

Last week I was a mess, so besides work, I didn't attend much! So sorry! From time to time, I won't be able to make some things. While I love my jobs, sometimes I just get tired and now that my health is starting to normalize, some things will cause exhaustion. It's nothing personal, I promise!

I'm still sore from the COVID booster. I'm hoping tomorrow will be better, so I can write you a longer response.

    3. AOK, dear friend JM. I think it was actually a week-and-a-half ago that you said you'd come by on Saturday (the Saturday before last), but that's neither here nor there at this point. Here's the bottom line. You are my youngest commenting follower, and I look forward to getting your response to some of my edgier posts like this Rocktoberfest two-parter and my previous post, the one with the characters from Second Life Story. I'm sure you can understand that I was a little disappointed when you didn't make it over for that one as you said you would.

Thanks for following-up and enjoy the rest of your week, dear friend JM!
