That figure includes 10 years as emcee of the old blog,

Shady Dell Music & Memories, and 4 years as the so-

called brains behind Shady's Place Music & Memories.

I shay this calls for a shalivation... and the gang's all here.

Rolling Stone's list of The 500 Greatest Songs of All Time.

in Nashville. In 1956 Hal and his gal,
wife Ginger, toured with a rising star
by the name of Elvis Presley. As it
turned out, Hal was no slouch in the
 rock 'n' roll department either, and
 Hepcat's got proof. This cat thinks
Hal has great taste in automobiles.

Killer rockabilly from the outback - Kieron McDonald there with a song

for cruisin' or boozin' downunder-- "Hepcat Saturday Nite." Kieron and

his combo, which includes some of the best musicians in Melbourne,

are keepin' traditional Rockabilly, Rock’n’Roll and Hillbilly Bop

alive and kickin' with great tunes like that one.

Next we have Wanda Jackson, the
purty little lady with powerful pipes.

In the mid 50s, Wanda became a

pioneer of rock 'n' roll and earned the
title Queen of Rockabilly. Let's take
the plunge into Wanda's whirlpool
and listen to her flex her vocal

FYI, "Funnel Of Love" is the killer B side of Wanda's 1961 single
"Right Or Wrong," the latter covered by Ronnie Dove in 1964.

is now two years old...and crying for its binky.

To mark this special occasion, I decided to treat my men to a
little party, and I invited a few members of The Shady Bunch
deejay battalion over to play some tunes. Just a minute.

Hi, guys! Who would have thought that a frat rock
and Beach Music group from South Carolina would
be hot at the Shady Dell in soul mecca York, PA?
It happened, not once, but twice, in 1966 when
The Swingin' Medallions gained Dell immortality
first with "Double Shot (Of My Baby's Love)"
and then with the follow-up single I'm about to
play entitled "She Drives Me Out Of My Mind."
Both Medallions hits were released on the sound-
track of Mondo Daytona, a 1968 psychotronic
music documentary film shot on Daytona Beach
and first released in Bradenton, Florida. Singer
Billy Joe Royal narrated the film and music acts
Grand Funk Railroad and The Tams appeared
along with The Swingin' Medallions.
