"Glory, Glory (I Am Free)" - Dea Matrona
(Feb. 2022)

Kicking off the show, and following closely on the heels
of The Nolan Sisters, the Irish sister group you met a few
weeks ago, that was Dea Matrona, a Belfast-based duo,
sometimes a trio, formed in 2017, and named after
the divine mother goddess of Celtic mythology.

Hi, I'm Chris Griffin,
and I bring you ROCK!
Welcome to a sneak preview
of my S-P-M-M radio show
PSYCHOTIC
BREAK!
As you recall, I'm the crazy
mixed-up kid from Family Guy.
Today I'm back playing host
and DJ... preparing for my
full-time gig as a member
of The Shady Bunch.

Now let me introduce the talented singers, song-
writers and musicians of our featured act
Dea Matrona.

Mollie McGinn, on the left above & below, and Orlaith Forsythe, on the right
above & below, are besties who grew up busking on the streets of Belfast.
They caught on big time, started playing larger gigs and released
singles, an EP and an album. They sometimes appear as a trio
with Mollie's kid sister Mamie McGinn, center, on drums.

What I admire most about Dea Matrona is their versatility. They write,
perform and record their own songs and cover a variety of artists
and music styles. Most of their stuff has an old school vibe.
The ladies draw inspiration from 70s classic rock bands
like Cream, Led Zep, Joan Jett and Fleetwood Mac.

Today, I'm proud
to present some of
Dea Matrona's
greatest performances.
The Belfast bombshells
can't wait to rock the
block... so let's get
back to the tuneage.

Check out this next number.
It's been eons since I saw
or heard anything this rad!

The girls of Dea Matrona are
little bit Joan Jett, a little bit
Suzi Quatro and a hella lotta
rock flair as they perform--
"Make You My Star!"

(from 2021 EP Stamp On It)

That was Dea Matrona blowing my
mind with one of their original
songs-- "Make You My Star,"
from their 2021 EP
Stamp On It.

Up next, the ladies shift gears
and take a walk on the pop
side as they cover a 1971
song by Carole King,

If you're just tuning in...
I'm Chris Griffin, the crazy
mixed-up kid on Family Guy,
currently honing my skills
as a Shady Bunch DJ and
giving you a sneak peek at
my new radio show coming

We're taking a
PSYCHOTIC
BREAK!
from boring elevator music
and listening to the fabulous,
versatile Irish girl band
Dea Matrona!

Here they go again, flashing
us back to the dawning of
the Age of Aquarius with
a cool cover of a song by
Crosby, Stills & Nash.

Penned by Stephen Stills, it's the
popular B side of the 1969 CS&N
hit single "Marrakesh Express."
Here now is the Dea duo of
Mollie McGinn and Orlaith
Forsythe- "Helplessly Hoping."

Next our special guests tackle
a Chris Smither composition
that became a signature song
of folk and blues singer
Bonnie Raitt's live
performances.

The song was released in 1972
on Bonnie's second studio album
Give It Up. You can feel the
steam heat as Dea Matrona's

Like A Man!"

There's no question
 about it, folks. This
band kicks serious
butt! They're the
 real deal, and I say
they're going places.

As the talent scout
for Shady's Place,
I'm shouting it
from the rooftops:

Dea Matrona
ROCKS! RULES!
SLAYS! SHREDS!
KILLS! DESTROYS!

DARN! Seems like I'm just getting
started and boss man Shady Del Knight
is already giving me the wrap-up sign.
Thanks a lot for checking out this
sneak preview of my new show
