Hi, I'm Kara Danvers...
mild mannered office assistant and junior reporter at CatCo Worldwide
Media. Since nobody reads Shady's blog 😄 it's safe for me to reveal
my secret identity. I am actually (.....wait for it.....)

(SCROLL DOWN)

MEG GRIFFIN'S BOYFRIEND RONDO!

SUPERGIRL!

That's right. Supergirl has Kara's face, body and voice. The only
difference  between the two is that Supergirl rips off her glasses
and puts on a caped costume. Yet... get this... because it's rich...
the citizens of National City are clueless. Season after
season they never connect the dots!

Please stay tuned for the debut
of my S-P-M-M radio show

Hi and happy new year!  As you might recall, I'm Jenna Betancourt,
a young wife trying to survive Purge Night, a nationwide annual
government sanctioned event that resembles the zombie apocalypse.
The dystopian mayhem unfolds on the anthology action horror TV
series The Purge, based on the film franchise of the same name.

While I'm hunkered down awaiting the all-clear siren,
I'll be playing DJ along with three other heroines
from The Purge. Our new show is called
Purge Party
and it's coming soon to S-P-M-M Retrosonic Radio.
Our mission is to play music that is guaranteed to
purge the dirge and chase the blues.

For my contribution to Shady's gala to kick-off 2026, I've got an
incendiary song performance ripped from our Purge Party playlist.

 Yum Yum Dynasty:
 A Taste of Bubblegum Pop...

a new S-P-M-M radio show that pays tribute to American
bubblegum pop and nursery rhyme rock, genres that were
popular in the late 1960s and early 70s. Our group was
influenced by the artists in these music categories.

Before I introduce my song selection,
I want to wish you much good luck
in the coming year and hope to
see you again when

 Yum Yum Dynasty

debuts on S-P-M-M Retro Radio...
the station that stands for diversity.

Many of the "bands" we will present on
our show are actually "pseudo groups"
assembled in the studio using a lead
singer and backing tracks recorded
by anonymous session singers and
musicians. The sample song I will
now play for you was created in
this manner. Released as a single

Buenos dias! As you recall, I am Lito Rodriguez, a closeted gay actor
living in Mexico City and one of the "August 8th cluster" on the sci-fi
series Sense8. As a member of the Shady Bunch, I host a show called
Sense 8 Sensibility,
here on SPMM Retrosonic Radio.

In the fall of 1983, the song "Holiday" became the breakthrough U.S. hit
for Madonna, a young singer/songwriter destined for stardom and world-
wide recognition as the Queen of Pop. On January 14, 1984, Madonna
performed "Holiday" on American Bandstand. At the conclusion of the
number... host Dick Clark asked the up-and-comer what her dream
was for the future. Madonna famously replied, "To rule the world."
Today, the Australian company of singers and musicians known as
Sing It Live rules the world of cover bands, and their outstanding
rendition of Madonna's hit proves it. Watch and listen as Aussie
singing star Nikki Heuskes takes the lead on vocals accompanied
by her daughter, Kim Wilde lookalike Akasha Starr as they and
the world class musicians of Sing It Live bring you the new
definitive cover of this mid-80s dancepop classic- "Holiday!"

 Hello, I'm Vanessa Kensington...
a beautiful, determined, intelligent young woman who partners
with British spy Austin Powers in the 1997 comedy film
Austin Powers: International Man of Mystery.

I'm sure you are familiar with Austin as the semi-regular host of the
Valentine's Day dances here at Shady's Place. I've got great news.
Austin and I are reuniting as hosts of our own radio show.

Soon I'll be joining other
fetching, feisty females as

 to call British British Swag,
and I've got a sample, a song

 Hi, I'm
 Kara Danvers...
a bright, bubbly, somewhat
shy and awkward young woman
working as a personal assistant
and later a reporter on the DC
Comics superhero TV series
Supergirl. Some people say
I look and sound almost
exactly like Supergirl...
that the only difference
between the two of us
are the glasses and
the red and blue
caped costume.

That's crazy talk! Supergirl and I are nothing alike,
so just put that notion out of your mind, mister.

I'm here to play a song sample from
my new radio show Kara Danvers
Supertunes coming soon to SPMM
Supersonic Radio. It's a wonderful
performance by a Nashville-based
band called imy2 which, in modern
code-speak, stands for "I miss you,
too." The group is fronted by blue-
haired beauty Annalise Mahanes,
a singer with the super power of
being able to cover songs from
a variety of genres and make
it seem like they were
written just for her.

 Ellie Appleton.
Do I remind you of
Lady Rose Aldridge
on Downton Abbey?
I get that a lot.

You say goodbye
and I say hello
and welcome to my
segment giving you
a sneak peak at my
new radio show
coming soon to
Shady's Place.

As the co-star of Yesterday...
the 2019 musical rom-com
film that's loaded with great
 covers of Beatles songs, my
show on S-P-M-M Retrosonic
Radio will be wall-to-wall
Beatles, including classic
original recordings by the
Liverpudlian mop-tops
themselves, and terrific
Beatles covers by artists
of the past and present.
Quite rightly, my new
program will be called
Yesterday Once More.

To close today's sneak
preview special, I've got
a sensational sample for
you. It is one of the best
covers I've found of a
song written by John
Lennon and recorded
by The Beatles. It was
released as the lead
song on their 1969
album Abbey Road
and as a single that
topped the chart
in the U.S.
