 Evil Woman

Kicking things off, the season 1 trailer for
the hottest and best show on television!

Hi and happy new year! I'm Dr. Kristen Bouchard, star of
the hit CBS/Paramount+ supernatural drama TV series Evil.

Think I look like Dr. Helen Prins on Manhattan?  I get that a lot.

On Evil, I am a forensic psychologist. Along with my two
colleagues, I work for the Catholic Church as an "assessor."

Our job is to evaluate potential demonic activity and other supernatural activity.

My investigative team tackles a different type of case every week.

Every encounter is bizarre, disturbing and perplexing. Watch this!

Now meet my Evil associates... beginning with the
amazing hunk of man next to me on the right (below).

If David Acosta looks familiar, you might remember him as Luke Cage,
the character spun-off to his own superhero series from Marvel Comics'
Jessica Jones. My buddy Ben Shakir (far right) co-starred as "Aash"
in the 2014 Jon Hamm baseball bio-drama Million Dollar Arm.
And on the left of your screen and definitely not one of the
good guys, is creepy Leland Townsend, who played nerdy
Harold Finch on the series Person Of Interest. Finch was
a straight arrow on Person Of Interest but, on Evil...

Leland Townsend is bad to the bone.

Here's a closer look at my two best buds.

David Acosta is a former war journalist studying to become a
Catholic priest. He is a believer in both godly and demonic
events. David frequently experiences divine-like visions...

... some of them starring little ole me! 😈😍😈😍

Ben Shakir, an atheist, is a sarcastic, pragmatic man who
serves as the team's technical expert and equipment handler.

I am a non-believer and a skeptic but, as time goes on, my skepticism
is tested as I am exposed to more and more unexplainable phenomena.

Think of Evil as The Exorcist meets The Devil in Miss Jones

As the series progresses, you will witness my slow-burn transformation
from a meek and mild mother to a complete and total badass.

The wheels in my noggin are constantly turning and
I can't seem to avoid getting into mischief. Watch this!

In addition to giving you a sneak peek at my Evil series,
today's special on SPMM Retrosonic Radio allows me
to introduce my three theme songs along with musical
guests that, like me--- are certifiably badass.

 CRAZY LIXX

Here's a rock hard Swedish act that truly fills the bill.
They're the glam metal band Crazy Lixx, and the song
they're about to do is a perfect fit for my Evil show. With video
footage from a vintage slasher horror film and lyrics that include

The preacher warned that the Devil's
gonna take her if she don't change her ways

is it any wonder this one is my

Pick-to-Click.

Winning the Evil award for Best Badass Song and Video
Combo of 2019 (and maybe the whole 21st century)
here's Crazy Lixx with--  "(She's Wearing) Yesterday's Face!"

1987 slasher horror movie Killer Workout)

Now, more about my hit series Evil.

I'm the mother of four adorable girls.
SPOILER ALERT!
Those rugrats are scene stealers!

Lately... I haven't been setting a very good example for my kiddos.

Once in a while, something comes over me...
takes possession of my mind... and it
sho nuff ain't the holy spirit.

I get an urge... ants in my pants. I feel restless and wild

I don't know if I'm hallucinating or if its reality, but I start
acting like Karen Wheeler, Nancy's mom on Stranger Things.

Sing it with me to the tune of "Stacy's Mom" by Fountains of Wayne:
Nancy's mom has got it going on
She's all I want
And I've waited for so long

I dress to thrill, leave the munchkins home alone, hit the bar scene...

and get my jollies enticing strange men.

Turns out... I'm every guy's type! (see Vanessa Angel in Kingpin - 1996)

Being from Holland, I'm well suited for my work
on Evil which often involves tilting at windmills

This Dutch girl cleans up real good, and wannabe
holy man David always notices. Wooden shoe?

Tonight, I'm getting gussied so that I can tempt the pants off of my Evil bestie.

You see, a few episodes into the show, David and I started "feeling" each other.

We started reading each other's body language and exchanging knowing glances.

We started getting chummy and soon graduated to touchy-feely

Before long, I started invading David's dreams
and igniting naughty, forbidden fantasies.

One night, we got to whispering, making eye contact and flirting.

One thing led to another and BOOM!  We answered the call of the wild.

David went from priestly apprentice to "lay minister"
faster than you can say jungle fever. This Amsterdame
taught preacher man what "Dutch treat" really means.

A few weeks later, I sheepishly approached David.

I then uttered four words that no unmarried man wants to hear (below).

Alright, let's get back to the music.

 ISABELLA PECOVNIK

Now meet model, dancer and hard rock
femme fatale Isabella Pecovnik, a discovery
of Crazy Lixx founder Danny Rexon.

Can you say "badass"???  Saintly Isabella is
the kind of girl you take home to meet mother.

from their 2021 album Street Lethal entitled-- "Rise Above!"

You might recall watching Isabella Pecovnik (above left)
perform as one of the cheerleaders in the epic Crazy Lixx
music video for their 2021 song "Anthem For America,"
a video introduced that year here at Shady's Place

The video is such a classic, thanks in no small part to Isabella (above left)
and her considerable cheer girl talents, that the clip is worth another look.

the USA?" Heed their powerful rallying cry-- "Anthem For America!"

 CHEZ KANE

Isabella Pecovnik ia also featured in a music video for Welsh
rock queen Chez Kane, another exciting talent discovered
and produced by Crazy Lixx leader Danny Rexon.

Chez Kane's singing and clothing style are reminiscent of the 1980s
melodic hard rock scene. In a feast for the eyes as well as the ears,
Chez is joined by our featured model Isabella Pecovnik and
Swedish beauty Milou Rosenlund with Danny Rexon on
guitar and backing vocals, in the rollicking throwback
video- "(The Things We Do) When We're Young In Love!"

Chez Kane feat. Danny Rexon, Isabella Pecovnik
and Milou Rosenlund (Sept. 2022)

Our series Evil will blow your mind with
repulsive demon characters like this guy.

Trust me, as my team struggles to deal with creatures
from the dark side, job one is simply "Stayin' Alive!"

Hey look!  I've turned into one of Shady's Black & White Girls!

 GRAVE REFLECTIONS
 (GREG STEFISHEN)

Speaking of  witch  which..... check out this badass rockabilly artist
named Greg Stefishen. The videos created by Greg for his YouTube
channel Grave Reflections, are inspired by his love of 1950s
hot rod, teensploitation, sci-fi and horror movie genres.

(above) David and Kristen watch the latest video from Grave Reflections.

Greg's clips are produced in mind-blowing Black & White
Super Panavision 70 with creepy AI generated characters.
Written and performed by Greg Stefishen... here is an
Evilworthy song and bizarro vid called-- "Hell To Pay!"

"Hell To Pay -- A Rockabilly Blues
Deal With The Devil" - Grave Reflections
feat. Greg Stefishen (Nov. 2024)

Still thinking it over? Not yet convinced to watch David,
Ben and I fight the good fight against the forces of Evil?

Hear this. Evil has consistently earned rave reviews from critics...

and a perfect 100% rating on Rotten Tomatoes two seasons in a row!

In addition to ultra-high critical acclaim, Evil has attracted an army
of devout fans millions strong. No wonder it came as a shock and
bitter disappointment when our series was canceled after only
four seasons. A petition is now circulating to have new
seasons produced on Netflix or another streamer.

That brings me to my second Evil theme song, this one by the pride
of Erie, PA, Audra Miller and her fabulous band First To Eleven.

Audra and the F-211 boys take greatness to the next level as they
cover a song made popular by the San Francisco rock band Journey,
a top 10 hit in late 1981 and early '82. To all our faithful followers
who crave more new episodes of Evil, we say- "Don't Stop Believin!"

  1. Happy New Year, Tom! You really packed the content in your first post of 2025. I am going to have to come back later to read it more thoroughly and to listen to each music video. I noticed you're using Crazy Lixx a few times. I always enjoy their music videos because they aren't afraid to use pretty girls or clips of vintage clips of real girls. I hope you and Mrs. Shady had a wonderful Christmas season. I sent greetings to you via email but didn't get a response. Maybe it went to your junk box. I was a bit worried so I am happy to see you this morning. Have a great January and new year!

  2. Happy New Year friend Shady! You certainly want to wake us up with these scary scenes and the loud music from Crazy Lixx! I remember Michael Emerson as Finch. We binge watched Person of Interest on Netflix BUT missed the last few episodes because they took it off the air and we didn't realize that was going to happen. I keep meaning to try to find it somewhere. I am not sure I'd watch this new show. Too scary for me.

Hope you and the Mrs. had a great New Years. We were with some friends and watched the ball drop on New York time so we could be back home before midnight! I think we're getting old.

  3. Well you know most of this post went over my head since I don't watch much TV and nothing that requires streaming. However... I really enjoyed that video by Duran Duran. I had no idea they did a cover of ELO's Evil Woman! The music was good, but the actually video was really fun!

I hope 2025 is getting off to a good start for you and Mrs. Shady.

  4. Duran Duran did a cover of ELO's Evil Woman? Does Jeff Lynne know about this?

  5. Like Alex, I didn't know Duran Duran did a cover of Evil Woman. For that matter I didn't know Duran Duran was still around and still recording. Not a bad cover, actually. Now maybe ELO can do "Hungry Like the Wolf".

That woman in the Chez King "(The Things We Do) When We're Young In Love" video looks a bit like Julia Louise-Dreyfus (Elaine on Seinfeld.) I wonder if they have ever been photographed together.

  6. Happy New Year, Tom! I must confess that I have not actually read your post at this time. I am deep in the bowels of a very intensive course to add onto my teaching certificate and only took a moment's break to stop by to wish you all the best in 2025. I'll be stopping back by to actually read this post once I finish this unnecessarily-complicated assignment.

  7. I love Evil! That show is so good!
Duran Duran is so good. They have so many good songs.
I'd never heard Crazy Lixx but they are good.
I always liked the Bee Gees. It's sad that only one brother remains now.
I hope you had a nice New Years. And yes to your question, I stopped sharing songs on my blog on Saturdays because I was only getting 5 or 6 views on those days. No one else seemed to like the posts or the music. lol

  8. This is Birgit..I’m finally here! How has your New year’s been? We watched Poldark- a great British historical fiction series with lots of lust..er…love. I have not seen this series which sounds quite interesting. I couldn’t watch the first 2 videos which is a shame. As for the next 3, well, that is not my cuppa tea. I watched all of this yesterday and I did enjoy the Bee Gees video and I liked the one gal..her name escapes me but she’s not that bad. Duran Duran did a pretty damn good cover of one of my favourite bands, ELO. I hope you are having a great time, so far…hey love that picture of Trump! He seems to have improved somehow:)). Let’s hope this will not be a year of too much chaos. I do want to see the film, The Apprentice as I heard it is good even though it’s about this nutbar.
